NIDO UK-South To Float Community Project In Karu. NIDCOM Hails Move

As part of events leading up to the 2021 Annual National Diaspora Day Celebrations, the Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation (NIDO United Kingdom South), has earmarked a Community Development Project at the Karu Children’s Home, a satellite town in Abuja.

The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa who received the NIDO delegation commended their spirit of patriotism, dedication and commitment to ensuring that the lower rungs of society are cared for.

The conversation dovetailed to other issues to include: Diaspora Voting, Constitutional reform, Diaspora Housing and medical city, among others.

The NIDCOM Boss gave assurances of constructively engaging the National Assembly to work out a conducive environment for the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC to conduct Diaspora Voting.

She also explained that NIDCOM is working with Federal on Housing Authority (FHA) on Diaspora Housing, working with Federal Mortgage Bank for Diasporans to own their own houses and other Diaspora related initiatives.

Hon Abike Dabiri-Erewa also told the NIDO UK-SOUTH Delegation that NIDCOM has launched a Diaspora Data Mapping Portal to fast track engagements with the Nigerian Global Community.

Chairman, NIDO UK-SOUTH and Head of the delegation, Barrister Chibuzo Ubochi commended NIDCOM’s leadership style of putting words into action having achieved so much in such a short span of two years.

Chibuzor Ubochi stated that Nigerians in Diaspora Organisation UK south are in Nigeria for what they called: “One Week in and for Nigeria”, as a way of giving back to Community, a major plank of NIDO UK- SOUTH’s Objectives.

The NIDO UK SOUTH are billed to participate actively in the 2021 Annual National Diaspora Day Celebrations.

Signed,
Gabriel Odu,
Media, Public Relations and Protocols Unit.
